Privacy notice

Last updated

This notice explains what happens to your personal information when you use this website or get in touch through it.

Who we are

Chéile Wellbeing is the practice of Laura Hackett, a CORU-registered Senior Occupational Therapist based in Tuam, Co. Galway. Laura is the data controller for the information described here. You can contact her about anything in this notice at laura@cheilewellbeing.ie.

This notice covers the website and enquiries made through it. It does not cover the clinical records kept for clients.

What we collect

When you use the contact form, we collect the details you give us: your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to add it, the service you are interested in, and your message.

The contact form is not intended for sensitive health information, so please do not include details about your health in your message. You do not need to share anything about your health to make an enquiry. If you do mention your health or wellbeing, that is special category information under data protection law, and we only use it to reply to you and to understand how Laura might help.

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your email.

We do not ask for or collect payment details on this website.

How we use it and why

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to arrange your first session.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the contact form, and the steps you ask us to take before you become a client. Where your message includes health information, the basis is your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will delete your enquiry.

We never sell your details, never share them for marketing, and never add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

Enquiries sent through the contact form are stored securely on the website so that none are lost if an email fails to arrive. This website copy is kept for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless there is a legitimate reason to keep it longer, and is then deleted.

A copy of each enquiry is also emailed to Laura at laura@cheilewellbeing.ie. The copy in her inbox is kept for up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless there is a legitimate reason to keep it longer, and is then deleted. Spam is deleted promptly.

Who can see it

Only Laura reads your enquiry. A small number of service providers handle it on her behalf, under agreements that require them to keep it secure and use it only as instructed:

  • Website hosting: the site runs on a private server in the Netherlands, within the European Union, managed by Brandstart, the agency that built and maintains the website.
  • Email: Titan (Titan Pro) email hosting, provided through Blacknight, which receives and stores the enquiry emails sent to Laura.

The website stores your information on its server in the Netherlands, within the European Union.

Keeping it safe

The whole website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), so what you type into the contact form is protected on its way to us. Stored enquiries can only be opened by a signed-in administrator.

To stop automated spam, the form keeps a one-way coded version of your internet (IP) address for one hour, to limit how many messages can be sent in a short time. It cannot be turned back into your address and is deleted automatically after the hour.

Cookies

How this website uses cookies, and how you can choose which ones to allow, is explained in our Cookie policy.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it if it is wrong
  • ask us to delete it
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it
  • receive your information in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these rights, email laura@cheilewellbeing.ie. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please get in touch.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
