Chéile Wellbeing adult mental health occupational therapy: a waterfall falling into a green, moss-covered glen in the West of Ireland

When everyday life starts to feel more difficult than usual, it can be hard to know where to start. At Chéile Wellbeing, I provide practical, person-centred support to help adults improve their mental health and wellbeing, particularly when life feels overwhelming, stressful or difficult to manage.

Is everyday life feeling harder lately?

Our mental wellbeing can affect so many aspects of everyday life, from getting started in the morning and maintaining routines to sleeping well, working, studying, looking after ourselves, and making time for the things we enjoy.

When your mental health makes even the simplest tasks feel exhausting, it can be difficult to understand why everyday life feels so much harder. Maybe you know what might help, but struggle to find the energy, motivation or headspace to put it into practice. Mental Health Occupational Therapy bridges that gap between knowing and doing, helping you find ways forward that feel achievable in real life. Together, we’ll explore small, meaningful changes that work for you and your circumstances, helping you feel more capable, balanced and like yourself again.

You may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, low mood, burnout, overwhelm or low motivation. Or perhaps you feel stuck, emotionally drained or like you're struggling to keep on top of everyday life.

You might be finding it difficult to:

  • Establish a routine
  • Manage your sleep
  • Get started in the morning
  • Make time for your own wellbeing
  • Balance the demands of work, study, relationships and home life
  • Make time for the things you enjoy
  • Manage anxiety and/or stress
  • Adjust to new life transitions, e.g. starting or returning to college or work, or new parent roles

You don't need a formal diagnosis to benefit from support.

Talk it through

Practical strategies that work for you

Mental Health Occupational Therapy (OT) can support you to understand what may be getting in the way of everyday life and find practical, personalised strategies that work for you. This might include support with:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Building routines
  • Managing stress
  • Improving sleep
  • Developing healthy habits
  • Increasing motivation
  • Managing energy levels and preventing burnout
  • Building confidence and self-esteem
  • Creating a healthier lifestyle balance between responsibilities, rest and the things that matter to you
  • Rebuilding a sense of identity, purpose and connection with yourself
  • Finding ways to engage in meaningful activities that support your wellbeing

The focus is on translating understanding into practical, sustainable changes that support your mental health and wellbeing, and participation in everyday life.

Support for ADHD, autism and neurodivergent adults

Mental Health OT can also support individuals with ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent presentations, particularly when difficulties in these areas are affecting daily functioning, independence or participation in the things that matter to you:

  • Executive functioning
  • Organisation
  • Planning
  • Time management
  • Task initiation
  • Emotional regulation
  • Sensory regulation

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day demands, struggling to manage your mental health, or finding that neurodivergent challenges are making everyday tasks harder than they need to be, OT support can help you develop practical strategies and make positive, sustainable changes that fit your life.

Turning understanding into meaningful action

Mental Health OT focuses on the connection between your mental health, your daily activities and the environment around you, helping you identify what is getting in the way and develop practical, achievable strategies that support your wellbeing.

  • A kinder voice

I draw on compassion-focused therapy principles to help you develop a kinder, more supportive relationship with yourself.

  • Alongside other therapy

Occupational Therapy can complement psychological therapy, helping you translate therapeutic insights into practical, meaningful change in everyday life.

  • Change that lasts
